BUS TRIP TO NYC

Our FIRST bus trip as Seniors!!!

We enjoyed this wild adventure with my sister Dora & Brother-in-law Dale. We left MI in the morning and went thru OH & PA the first day. We stopped in a neat town called Bellefontaine, PA for lunch. This town features many examples of Victorian architecture as well as a natural spring, from which the town gets its name (la belle fonte).
While walking around town I noticed a building with the name Bush engraved in the facing of this beautiful building. Knowing Dan's family came from PA, I wanted more information!!!

Had lunch at a neat place called " Cool Beans" & encountered a local who was very talkative! Dan asked him about the area but I wanted to know about that building!! So I asked about the Bush name...it's not good when he felt he had to come closer to us to speak about the Bush's. The story goes like this.....back in the 1800's the Bush's ran this town...but then things went terribly wrong!!! They were chased out of town to the hollars of the mountains where they still reside. They are not very well liked because apparently they are not all there..if you know what I mean!!! Without a doubt I know these Bush's are part of our family!!!
OK back to that building.. The Bush House
Financed by Daniel G. Bush & built in 1868. It was one of the first hotels in the country to have electric lights.A man would stand at the train station & call out to the passengers, " Walk ya" to the the Bush House! Thomas Edison stayed at the Bush House! No longer a hotel but has serviced many restaurants. Interesting!

Had to take a picture of the Post Office! Beautiful building

Nice cool sunny day on the river
