Once there lived animals like creatures that changed themselves into people. But they were bad, so Coyote turned them into rocks of various configurations call Hoodoos

            NATIONAL RECREATION AREA IN UTAH

We were told about this place from our friends Val & Linda. We camped on a ledge overlooking this view. It was so peaceful and beautiful!!

Dan & I walked the beach everyday and we left our footprints behind

SECOND DAY AT THE GRAND CANYON

  One day was not enough time to see the Canyons!

We decided to go east from the center towards Desert View.

WATCHMAN TOWER

We climbed to the top of the 70 foot tower.Built in 1932 modeled after towers built by prehistoric people of the Southwest. The Watchtower features a rough stone exterior and handpainted murals by Hopi artist Fred Kaboti

They painted Dan hunting in the Canyons!!

Desert View is the highest point at 7438 and you have views of the Colorado River twisting thru the Canyons. SPECTACULAR!
Everyone should put this wonder on their bucket list!!!
Our next next is Lake Powell UT/Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

                                                   We started at the Vistor Center

We decided to take the shuttle bus and head west of the vistor's center.

This was our FIRST view of the Canyons!!!

AWESOME!!!!

 You have to experience to feel the soul and beauty of this wonder of the world

Look Out Studio also known as Kolb Studio.

 A studio where two brothers back in the early 1900's were photographers

 who risk their lives for that perfect canyon picture!

Mini Vacation at Joshua National Park

Joshua National park located in Twentynine Palms, CA

             Jumble of stacked boulders. The rocks began underground eons ago as a result of volcanic activity.A molten form of the rocks called monozogranite rose from deep within the earth. As the granite cooled & crystalized underground, cracks formed horizontally & vertically.

We look so small compared to the Joshua Tree. This tree is the "Tree of Life"

A little creature in the desert. This is an Antelope ground squirrel. Dan wants to know if they are good eatin's! Always thinking about hunting!

From an elevation of 5185 ft, you can overlook a stunning expanse of valley, mountain, and desert.We could see the Salton Sea to Mexico.

Snow on the mountains. These are the San Bernardino Mts at 11502 ft.

Hanging out with our buddies Linda & Dick Homrich. We took a hike back to Barker Dam

Barker Dam was built in 1900 to hold water for cattle and mining use.

This was a great day with great friends in a AWESOME Place!
