Zion National Park established Nov. 19, 1919
146,592 acres
Sheer cliffs dropping 3000 ft. Nineteenth century Mormon pioneers saw these
sculpured rocks as the "natural temples of God".We took a hike(easy!!) to the Weeping Rock. The trailhead took us behind a curtain of water showering from the ceiling of an alcove. It felt pretty good since we got overheated from our hike!!
As you can see we have taken on rock climbing.
That's me on top and Dan is trailing me!!!!NOT!!!!
Looking out from the Zion Lodge
Need to put your neck all the way back to see the top
Kolob Canyons on the north end of the Zions
Sheer cliffs of pale red sandstone lift more than 2000 ft into the blue sky.
It's time to move on to Salt Lake City!!
